Program Bank
Purpose and Rationale
Introducing a Program Bank at Camp George aims to streamline and optimize the storage and retrieval of past, present, and future camp programs. This centralized repository will serve as a valuable resource for camp staff, allowing them to share, collaborate, and build upon successful program ideas.
Objectives
- Knowledge Preservation: Create a digital archive of successful camp programs, ensuring that valuable knowledge and insights are preserved for future staff members.
- Efficient Planning: Facilitate the planning process by providing a repository of well-documented program ideas, enabling staff to easily adapt and implement successful activities.
- Collaboration and Innovation: Encourage collaboration among staff members by allowing them to contribute to the Program Bank, fostering creativity and innovation in program development.
Technical Implementation
The Program Bank, currently in a proof-of-concept phase, utilizes Hugo, a static site generator, for efficient content management. While Hugo itself doesn’t provide a web-facing UI, we are exploring additional tools or interfaces to allow staff to contribute and manage content seamlessly.
Maintenance and Usage Guidelines
Establish clear guidelines for the maintenance of the Program Bank, including regular updates, documentation standards, and permissions for adding or modifying entries. Encourage staff to actively contribute to the Program Bank, creating a dynamic and evolving resource.
